In November 1866, a petition for an ordinance prohibiting the sale of liquor in the town of Normal was circulated. The petition was signed by every man, woman, and child of six years or more. This document was donated to the historical society by Alice & Fannie Fell daughters of Jesse Fell founder of the town of Normal. This collection contains the actual petition on rolled pages plus a photocopy and a handwritten note from donors Alice and Fannie Fell.
