Approximately 70% of our annual budget is supported by private donations, including contributions and sponsorships from our local business community. We are engaged in an array of programming annually, most of which is offered free or at a discount to the community. In an average year we serve over 40,000 individuals with guests from 48 U.S. states and countries abroad. Private support makes this possible and we offer a variety of  sponsorship/support opportunities for our corporate/business partners to consider based on their specific goals, such as business/corporate memberships, bundled sponsorships, specific event sponsorships, and title sponsorships.

A new temporary exhibit “A Deadly Deception: The Asbestos Tragedy in McLean County,” opened in the fall of 2024. In the spring of 2026, the Museum will open another temporary exhibit on baseball/softball called “More than a Game,” exploring the vast history of America’s Favorite Pastime in McLean County.

Established in 1892, the Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. Only 3.3% of the nation’s 33,000 museums are accredited. Our longevity is a direct result of the generosity of our community. Support from corporations and local businesses is a wonderful way to enhance your profile in the community while supporting our mission to preserve, educate, and collaborate in sharing the diverse stories of the people of McLean County. Current “Presented by Sponsors” include: COUNTRY Financial (Free Tuesdays at the Museum & On The Square Magazine), MCK CPAs & Advisors (Lunch & Learn Series), Bridgestone (Futures in History Camp), Illinois Farm Bureau (Museum at the Farmer’s Market), WGLT (Live Stream Programs), Jeffrey Alans & the Wandell Family (Livingston Santas), Ace World Wide Moving (Livingston Santa’s Reindeer).

We look forward to discussing how we might partner together! Contact Norris Porter, Director of Development, for more information.
