Edgar Lundeen (1898 – 1986) was an architect who practiced in Bloomington IL throughout his career. He studied architecture at the University of Illinois during the 1930s. The collection includes records created by Edgar Lundeen as a member of the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS). His work with the Survey began during the time he was at the University of Illinois as an architecture student in the 1930s. HABS was a make-work project during the depression that employed architects in recording the historically significant built environment of Illinois. Lundeen continued to work with the project into the 1960s.

This collection includes the work of Edgar Lundeen on the HABS project, as well as his Masters thesis on the HABS project discussing the significance of architecture in the history of Illinois.
