An adult study group, the Normal Literary Center was founded in 1896 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in fall 1996.
In the early years, the schedule of program was written on standard lined tablets; in later years the group produced yearbooks.
Primarily composed of annual program booklets, the collection also includes a few newspaper articles, an anniversary meal program, and Eleanor Stubblefield's notes on the history of the Center.
