Middleton Associates of Normal was founded in 1954 by Keith Middleton (1916-2006). By 1960, the firm’s work included architectural design and development of new and existing facilities throughout Illinois, including major educational, religious, commercial, and healthcare projects. Services later expanded to include historic documentation, historic renovation, energy management, structural renovation, re-roofing, and other areas.
In 1996, two of Keith Middleton’s son, Randall and Russell Middleton, assumed operation of the firm. Middleton Associates remained an active into the 2000s. The office at 702 West College Avenue in Normal was closed in late 2025 / early 2026.
Scope
The collection includes blueprints, drawings, photographs, and slides of various projects. There is also a general folder with information about the firm, and a 140-page chronological listing of all the company’s projects.
