The collection includes the personal papers of Mr. Kennedy, and his wife Beulah (1923-2002). They include documents from his time serving on the Bloomington Human Relations Commission and as President of the local chapter of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People). Also included are documents relating to his work history, participation in amateur athletics (mostly softball and golf), and his association with numerous nonprofit organizations.
