Wantling, William

This four-box collection contains correspondence, professional work, academic work, and notes of William Wantling as well as material collected for William Wantling: a Biography and Selected Works, by John Pyros, published by Spoon River Press, 1981. Professional writing includes material from San Quentin, California, and also Wantling’s extensive writing and publishing during his time at ISU. Academic writing includes papers written for classes at ISU. Correspondence is mostly from his years in Illinois and regards his professional writing. There is also correspondence regarding his academic work, job searches, and legal and medical problems. Many of these folders were originally arranged by Ruth and Bill Wantling. The fourth box is material later collected from Ruth Wantling. It includes her poetry, journals, correspondence, and collected ephemera.
