Willard Johnson's WWII Message Home Sponsored by Pepsi

This voice recording was donated to the McLean County Museum of History by Lynne Fazzini. Her father, Willard Johnson, recorded it at Camp Plauche, Louisiana, during World War II. During the war, Pepsi did a promotion entitled “Your Man in Service”. The company set up recording booths for soldiers to record and send out a message to their loved ones at home. The record, now in the Museum's collection is a 78-speed, 45-size vinyl record. Museum intern, Aidan Coyne, cleaned up the record and captured it in this video.
