The establishment of Brokaw Hospital in Normal, IL dates to 1896. In 1981, Brokaw Hospital merged with Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington to become BroMenn Medical Center. It was later part of the Illinois and Wisconsin-based Advocate Aurora Health Care system. In 2020, BroMenn was acquired by Carle Health hospital.
The collection includes a run—December 1962 to July- August 1984—of The Intercom, published mostly monthly by Brokaw Hospital for its employees and other stakeholders. Box 2 contains a run of Pocket Pager—January 1978 to November 1984. Box 1, Folder 6 contains two other titles, Brokaw-O-Gram (1961-1963) and Med-Lines (1980-1984).
