The Museum is thrilled to partner with Nomad Theater Company to host Order in the Court this September!

This production will feature a powerful lineup of original short plays exploring justice, power, and the human condition, with a splash of humor. Directed by Lori Adams, Order in the Court will include winning 10-minute play submissions from across the nation as well as a play by local writer John D. Poling. Based on true McLean County history, his play will anchor the lineup.

This immersive theatrical event invites audiences to experience the emotional weight and drama of the courtroom from inside an actual, historic courtroom. The plays that have been selected are:

  • Drag/Bar by Domenick Scudera (Collegeville, PA)

  • End of Life by Vincent Kovar (Bothell, WA)

  • Inquest by Bruce Boeck (Normal, IL)

  • Normal Traffic by Phil Drag (Maple Grove, MN)

  • Disorder in the Court by MC Crosby (Brooklyn, NY)

  • Judge Sparks by Matthew Green (Champaign, IL)

  • Zero Bond by Lavinia Roberts (Conway, AR)

  • The Indigent Ladies of Towanda by John D. Poling (Bloomington, IL)

There are five opportunities to experience this live theater in the Museum's Governor Fifer Courtroom on the second floor:

  • Friday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m.

  • Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Friday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m.
