Bring your lunch and join us to learn about how historic preservation is an important tool for any community on Thursday, May 8, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. with Dawn Peters, a realtor and member of Bloomington's Historic Preservation Commission.
Historic preservation is not only a way for us to transmit our community’s history, but it is a method to protect and save architectural history and the history of each building, while also preserving the environment by saving original materials instead of tearing down and building new. Peters will share information about the work she does on the commission and her knowledge about older properties. A member of the Commission since 2021 and a REALTOR® since 2016, Peters has a passion for period homes and has helped many clients buy and sell older homes in our community. Additionally, she was part of the move and restoration of the Oscar and Sara Mandel House to Grove Street from 2004 to 2017 and has extensive knowledge in restoration and renovation techniques for older homes.
The Museum's Lunch & Learn series is made possible with the support of our presenting sponsor, MCK CPAs & Advisors. This series provides unique learning opportunities every second Thursday of the month over the lunch hour (12:10 to 1:00 p.m.) in person and live via youtube.com/mchistorymuseum.
