Join Museum Librarian Bill Kemp for a program celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of COUNTRY Financial. This free public program will be held in-person in the Museum's second floor courtroom and live-streamed via youtube.com/mchistorymuseum on Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m.
COUNTRY Financial has partnered with the Museum throughout the 2025 calendar year to celebrate the Bloomington-based insurer's 100th anniversary. Kemp's program will examine the Illinois Agricultural Society / Illinois Farm Bureau and its affiliated companies (including COUNTRY) and the headquarters relocation from downtown Chicago to downstate Illinois in 1960-61. Why did the Farm Bureau make the move? Why was Bloomington selected over its many downstate competitors? How did the new relocation and influx of new employees impact the Twin Cities? The answer to these and other questions will be addressed in this profusely illustrated program.
This program is sponsored by COUNTRY. For more information about this program, please contact the Education Department by clicking here or calling 309-827-0428.
