October Means ‘Rocktober’ Kickapoo Creek Rock Festival Aerials, May 31, 1970

Rocktober Kickapoo festivak, 1970.

The Kickapoo Creek Rock Festival was held outside of the McLean County community of Heyworth on L. David Lewis’ 320-acre farm over Memorial Day weekend 1970. Seen here are two aerials during the festival’s second day, May 31. The festival drew something like 60,000 young folk and the eclectic stage lineup included The Amboy Dukes with a young Ted Nugent, Canned Heat, Country Joe and the Fish, Dan Fogelberg, BB King, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, REO Speedwagon, and Rick Nielsen and Fuse, among others.
Does anyone spot their car, truck, bus, or camper?

I was at this festival and remember visiting a friend in the hospital tent. I remember seeing a photo in a local news paper of myself visiting a friend in the hospital tent. It happened so long ago that my memory might be faulty. I’m 99% sure this is where the photo was taken. Can you help me check on this. I would love a copy.
Sincerely,
Arlene
