World's Columbian Exposition

The World's Columbian Exposition was a world's fair held in Chicago in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World in 1492. The fairgrounds were open to the public from May 1 to Oct 30, 1893. An estimated 27 million people visited the fair, with over 700,000 on Chicago Day alone. This small collection contains admission tickets, souvenir images and photos and other paper souvenir items.
