Responding to an invitation from Vail Deale of the Withers (Bloomington) Public Library, twenty-two librarians from local public and academic libraries met on Feb 1, 1940, for a dinner meeting. The new organization began meeting quarterly to foster close fellowship among members, better understand one another’s needs, provide united publicity, and hopefully share materials. The collection includes minutes, officer and members lists, newspaper publicity, etc.
