Jacob Phillip Jung was born in Nauvoo, Illinois, the son of Christian and Elizabeth Brandenburger Jung, natives of Germany.  In 1869 he came to Bloomington and served an apprenticeship for three years with Halderman Marble Works.  in 1887 he entered into partnership with H.J. Higgins in the stone cutting business in Bloomington.

This collection spans from 1900-1967 and contains lodge cards from the Knights of Pythias organization, political, personal, and business news clippings, estate papers,  building documents, and memorial papers.
