Ewing, N. P. Family Farm Collection

The Ewing family, headed by Nathaniel Porter Ewing (4 Oct 1812 – 24 Jun 1876) and Nancy Elmira Young (24 Mar 1813 – 18 Mar 1897) came to Mt. Hope Township, McLean County in 1853. Their son, Samuel Young Ewing ( 25 Aug 1845 – 5 Mar 1889) was the father of Nathaniel Porter Ewing (1879 – 1930), who was the father of Samuel Young Ewing (1905 – 1979) who was the father of Representative Thomas Ewing. The Ewing family continuously operated the family farm in Mt Hope Township from 1853.

This collection is composed of letters written between the Ewing family in 1921, miscellaneous letter written to Samuel Y. Ewing and farm records kept by Nathaniel Porter and Jane Ewing between 1910 and 1949.
