Founded in 2010, Slow Art Day is an annual global event that aims to help more people discover the joy of looking at and appreciating art. In 2022, Bloomington Artists organized the world's first citywide Slow Art Day.
The 3rd Annual Slow Art Day on Route 66 will be held on Saturday, April 13, at art studios, galleries, specialty shops, and museums throughout Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visit any or all locations free of charge, followed by a closing reception at The Hangar Art Co. from 2 to 4 p.m. This free-for-all-ages, family-friendly event will take place rain or shine.
