Long before the emergence of Rivian Automotive, the Twin Cities was center stage for another battery-powered vehicle — the gone-but-not-forgotten Henney Kilowatt, designed and assembled at Bloomington-based manufacturer Eureka-Williams Co. Although less than 50 of these experimental autos were sold during the two-year (1959-1960) manufacturing run, the Henney Kilowatt remains a fascinating chapter in the story of the electric car. Bill Kemp, the Museum's Librarian, will illustrate this program with a treasure trove of original Henney Kilowatt papers held in the archives of the McLean County Museum of History, including photos and promotional materials.
This program will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m. in the Astroth Community Education Center room 2210 at Heartland Community College. Registration is $35 per person and can be accessed by clicking here.
