The Hands All Around Quilt Guild presents the Museum's Curator of Collections, Jackie Cain, for her program Quilts of Crisis: Stitching Together Through Hard Times. This program will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mennonite Church of Normal, 805 S. Cottage Avenue in Normal.

Throughout history, quilts have been more than just bedding. They tell stories of resilience, community, and comfort during difficult times. Join The HAAQ Guild as Cain explores how quilters have used needle and thread to navigate hardship, preserve memories, and connect with others. From broader historical movements to stories rooted in McLean County, this program offers a fascinating look at the role of quilts in people's lives.

Cain brings a background in art history, archaeology, and museum studies, specializing in object preservation and textile care. She is also an avid fiber artist with a passion for weaving, spinning, quilting, and natural dyeing.
