During the November First Friday festivities downtown, the Museum will host an opening reception for the re-envisioned Merwin Gallery. This gallery previously served as a rotating exhibit space but is now reopening as a visible storage gallery, which allows us to share more of our collection with the community. Like many other Museums across the country, we only have about 3% of our collection on display at any given time. The reopening of the Merwin Gallery will effectively double that figure. Various objects will rotate through the space so visitors can come back repeatedly, always to see something new.
All are welcome to check out the new space during the Public Opening Reception on Friday, November 3, from 5-8 p.m. Museum Members will have exclusive opportunities to preview the gallery earlier in the week leading up to the public opening—additional information to come.
