We are back in person! We will be holding the second Knit In of 2023 at Illinois Art Station on Saturday, May 6 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. This event is free, and open to any knitter or crocheter to join us! Please bring a lawn chair or folding chair to attend as we will be knitting/crocheting on the patio and lawn.

For the past 10 years (even during the darkest days of the Covid-19 pandemic) knitters and crocheters in our community have continued to make items for those in need. From scarves, to hats, baby blankets, fidget sleeves, and more! While the last 2 years we have created these items in the comfort and safety of our homes, we are coming back together in person to make items to help those in need in our community once again! For the second quarter of 2023, we will be working on making fidget cuffs for patients at Carle BroMenn Medical Center.

Parking will be available at Illinois Art Station (two private parking lots located on Vernon Ave. circle lot & Linden St. surface lot). For more information or any questions, please contact the Education Department at 309-827-0428 or education@mchistory.org.

Saturday IAS will also be debuting its new exhibit #3Yearsin3Lines: A Resiliency Collective Project. This community-curated exhibit invites the public to process, observe, and express in a creative, supportive space. #3Yearsin3Lines is a continuation of the regional collecting efforts of the McLean County Museum of History and its community partners (including Illinois Wesleyan University, Illinois State University, and Heartland Community College) to capture and curate the pandemic experiences of McLean County residents. The exhibit will open on May 6th and close on June 17th. For more information on #3Years3Lines, click here.
