Head down to the Museum Square in historic Downtown Bloomington to get your kicks on Route 66 this weekend!
On Friday, July 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., we will be at the intersection of Jefferson and Main St. playing Route 66 trivia and writing cards to people living in care facilities throughout the county.
Plus, Friday is the first day to start your journey down the Route 66 Art Trail, which leads anyone of any age through 17 brick-and-mortar art studios, galleries, and museums in Bloomington-Normal along old Route 66. To view an interactive map of participating locations, click here. Stops along the Art Trail will be open on Saturdays throughout July.
Also, on Friday night, follow the Art Trail down to the BCPA lawn for live music starting at 7 p.m. Click here to learn more about the performers. Admission to any First Friday Concert Series concert will run at a flat fee of $5. However, if you bring a receipt displaying a purchase from a downtown business, you will be given free admission.
Saturday, the Museum and its Cruisin' with Lincoln on 66 Visitors Center opens at 9 a.m. for Museum at the Market. Enjoy free Museum admission until Noon, courtesy of Illinois Farm Bureau, and make sure to stop by our booth on Washington St. to pick up Funks Maple Sirup, Beer Nuts, or any of our other locally produced goodies.
