{ "name":"Downtown Bloomington Architecture Tour with Candace Summers", "description":"

Many of the buildings in downtown Bloomington are 100-plus years old, and each has a story to tell -- if you know where to look. Join Candace Summers, the Museum's Senior Director of Education, for a walking tour to explore historic Downtown Bloomington on Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m.

This tour will highlight the architectural styles of several standing buildings and the architects who built them. Additionally, we will feature a few buildings lost to the wrecking ball over time and discuss the adaptive reuse of other historic buildings to continue to meet our community's evolving needs.

Tickets are $10 for the General Public, $8 for Museum Members, and $5 for students. Participation is limited to 30 people. Please note that we will walk approximately one mile over a 1.5-hour period, standing and stopping between various sites. The tour will begin and end at the Museum. Participants should meet outside the Museum's main entrance on Washington Street approximately 15 minutes before tour time. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. We also encourage you to bring bottled water.

Ticket sales begin on Monday, June 30 and will be available for purchase on our website.

If you have any questions, please contact the Museum's Education Department at education@mchistory.org.
