Discover the fascinating history of the Evergreen Cemetery Walk, a view into our local past presented for 30 years by McLean County Museum of History, Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, and Illinois Voices Theatre-Echoes. Originating the walk in 1995 to combat cemetery vandalism, these groups, along with Broadleaf Media, have used live theater to educate nearly 100,000 individuals, mostly students, about cemetery preservation. Join Candace Summers, the museum’s senior educator, in exploring Evergreen Cemetery's monuments, past featured individuals, and be rewarded with a sneak peek of the 2024 cast.
This program will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Astroth Community Education Center room 2102 at Heartland Community College. Registration is $35 per person and can be accessed by clicking here.
