The Museum and League of Women Voters of McLean County are excited to welcome folks of all ages to join us on Saturday, March 23, from 2-4 p.m. for a free, interactive program exploring the last fifty years of women's rights.
Focusing on four categories -- advancements in economic independence, political participation, activism, and education -- presenters will share stories of women from McLean County's past before opening up it for small group discussions facilitated by local leaders, who will also share their own stories, in each of the categories. Formatted similarly to a Human Library, Jan Lancaster will focus on economic independence, Kyle Ciani on education, Kari Sandhaas on activism, and Sharon Chung on politics.
This program will begin and end in the Museum's historic courtroom on the second floor. However, the small group discussions will occur in various locations throughout the building. Due to the interactive nature of this event, it will not be live-streamed. The McLean County Museum of History is committed to advancing accessibility and equity for all. Please contact us by clicking here to learn more about our readily available accommodations or request specific accommodations.
The Museum will also have a new Rotunda Display Installation, and the exterior of the building will be lit up yellow and purple in honor of Women's History Month.
