The citizen effort to preserve Angler’s Lake, located in southeast Bloomington, began in 1979. Bloomington residents recognized the value of the Lake and worked diligently to urge Bloomington City Council to pass a resolution to identify Angler’s Lake as a valuable natural resource. City Council members passed the resolution and requested a study of the Lake in 1983. Angler’s Lake was donated to the City of Bloomington on December 22, 1986, and is enjoyed today as a nature preserve park.

The collection spans forty-two years and includes correspondences, photocopies of newspaper clippings, photographs, maps, reports, and surveys, as well as proceedings and reports from Bloomington City Council meetings.
