Sat Oct 20 13:00:00 2018
Join us Saturday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m. for a Día de los Muertos celebration like none other. We’ll start with a showing of the hit film, Coco (2017), the story of a young boy who travels to the Land of the Dead and discovers what it means to be part of a family. Stick around for refreshments, music, and activities for all ages; explore the Latino experience and history in McLean County; and contribute a family photo to our community ofrenda.
Día de los Muertos is a celebration of life and death and a time to honor family members who have passed. We hope you will join us for this special celebration of community and family.
Coco has a run time of 1 hour 45 minutes and is rated PG. Coco will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. This event is made possible through a partnership with YWCA, Conexiones Latinas de McLean County, and Western Avenue Community Center. This program is free and open to the public.
