McLean County Museum of History
March 17, 2012 through August 9, 2014

Immigrants from Ireland helped to make McLean County the community it is today. They came for many reasons — often with heavy hearts, as they were leaving family, land, and heritage. Once in McLean County,  they worked hard, established communities, and developed new traditions.  They had both successes and failures, but through it all continued to celebrate life and their heritage. This new exhibit  tells the story of Irish  immigration and settlement through historic objects, photographs and maps.
