‚ÄčThe American Gold Star Mothers, undated.

The American Gold Star Mothers organization consists of mothers who have lost a son or daughter to military service. This photograph is undated, though far left is Hazel Millard, founder and president of the Bloomington Gold Star Mothers chapter. Her son Mark, a WW II U.S. Army Air Corps pilot, was killed during a training flight in 1943.
The Museum Archives holds the Gold Star Mothers (1950- 1979) Collection and the Lt. Mark Millard Collection.
