Angler's Club playing hockey on Angler's Lake on January 31, 1938

The hockey players are Davis Carson, Marvin Bower, Ray Smith, Laurie Rasmussen, Tom Walsh, and Bob Redman—though who’s who we’re not sure!

Located on the south end of Bloomington, Angler’s Lake is one of several old clay pits excavated in the 19th century for the manufacture of brick and drain tile. For years a private club managed this tiny lake. The club has since disbanded and the area converted into housing, including Anglers Manor Apartments. It’s also part of the City of Bloomington’s Angler’s Lake Nature Preserve.
